Default [WANTED] 306 S16 - Rear Bumper, Wing Mirrors

    Hello froggers!

I start this thread with a question: Will parts from other 306's fit the S16?
Specifically, power windows from other N3 and N5 models?
Will the rear bumper from an N3 XSi fit?
Will the rear bumper from an N5 XSi fit?
Will the rear bumper from an N5 GTI-6 fit?

Does anyone have these parts available? No longer need bumper.

The 306 is currently at the panel beaters after being rear ended, and through the fault of someone, a standard rear bumper was delivered. The car has been there for 8 days now, and I'd like it back. Fixed. Any help would be great!

    Cheers!

    Answers I've found so far:

The bumpers off the hatches are all the same to mount, throughout the different phases. The black strips disappeared in later models, and the shape changes between spec levels and exhaust. So I'd guess that other N3 bumpers do fit, and possibly even N5 ones.

Hopefully a moot point, as the repairer has found what he is pretty sure is the correct bumper in Sydney. It will be shipped over this week, then fitted next week.

Still curious about the mirrors though!

The N3 & N5 sport bumpers with exhaust cut out are the as you mentioned the black strip disappeared as for the non sport models there 3 or 4 different styles, depending on age and spec level. What did you need to know about the mirrors?

Cheers guv! Good to know the newer ones fit, even if they have slightly different aesthetics.

The panel beaters managed to find the correct rear bumper, which was lucky, and looks great!

The mirrors on the 306 are what I'd describe as floppy. Where they usually can fold back to the car, nothing is keeping them securely located. They are fairly free to wiggle, and swivel. Do I need to find powered N3 mirrors, or will N5 fit the same way?

Alternatively, is there a way to fix them without putting a self tapper up into it?

We have a car which has cable ties keeping the mirrors from being too floppy.
I haven't tried pulling one apart (if one can do that) yet but I wouldn't be surprised if they can't be tightened up or have a shim inserted.

Cable ties are the order of the day here, as well!

I have a spare mirror from an early XT now, so I might pull that apart and see what the problem is. It has the same issue.

Early xt is the same as you just have to swap over the coloured bit

The early XT one is in pieces, but it has the same floppy problem. I worked out how to swap the electronics and body coloured trim panel, but this is not a suitable donor unfortunately!
