    Default 203/403 springs wanted

Here we go again - a plea for silly little bits. My 203 wagon is just about complete after a three year nut-and-bolt restoration. As such, I have attempted to reuse only genuine bits, nut, bolts and washers inclusive (obsessive? moi?).

About the last two parts I need are a couple of return springs. The first is the spring which holds back the clutch thrust on an early C2 gearbox - it fits between holes the clutch rod and the bell housing.

The second is the handbrake equaliser bar (under the car) return spring. This spring is common to both the 203 and 403. It is also used as the 203 brake pedal return spring (inside the pedal box) and performs the same function as the spring described above on an early 203 with a C1 gearbox. In that application it goes between the clutch rod and a loop cast into the bottom of the gearbox.

The attached sketches may make all this a little clearer.

I seriously need these springs and am prepared to pay good coin of the realm for same. Please look deeply into your hearts and junk heaps on my behalf.

    Thanks in anticipation.

    Tony
