I'll take the oil coolers/heat exchangers if you're happy to post? Or hold onto until I'm next around to pickup?

What is the go with those oil coolers? I have seen them in photos on other cars, but I have a Classic and it doesn't have that setup. Ao what's the go?! Is it something to think about doing, is it necessary?

as far as i know they are classed as a heat exchanger im not sure if its designed to heat the oil on a cold start or cool the oil when the motors hot? maybe both? it just screws onto the std xu9 block and the hoses connect into the top rad hose. alternatively you could use it to make a custom cooler.

I would've expected you to have one. The cooler itself is where the remote oil filter is mounted...

I actually only need the hoses which go between the block and the heat exchanger if you've got any of those? From your description maybe not?

i was being a little lazy with my description, if you look at the pic in the first post you will possible see two sets of the hoses you want. $30 for the lot or $30 for the hoses either way i just want to move it on.

Good info here: 205 Gti oil cooler

Anyway. I'll take them minus the actual coolers and filters if you don't mind removing them (as described by Peter in that previous link) (just to save on shipping)?

    Thanks all.

As I have A/C, looks like my filter is right where it should be, bolted right onto the block and a pain to change...although not the worst I have had to change.

Good luck with yours rtsnoz! How is the Mi16 coming along by the way?
