Default 205 Wiper arms - FROM LEFT HAND DRIVE 205

I'm after a set of wiper arms from a left hand drive 205. Please don't as why - If I get one (and my idea works), I will show you.

    ..actually I only need one.

I think I have one but god knows where it is. Are you going to use it as a single wiper conversion? I have tried this a few time with mixed results. In the end I went back to the normal set as it was too hard to get a straight wiper from a local car. I think a CX or BX may have one.

Anyway, if I find it you can have it.

Yeah That's what I will be attempting for the drivers side wiper mounted on the passenger side mount. In the home position it should be vertical on the windscreen. Have a look for me and if you still have it, I will transfer some money for postage.

    Thanks Cam.

Just been downstairs and cant seem to locate it.

You can just use the RHD wiper arm and it will stop over on the passenger side. Its a good start and gives you a gauge of how it works on the 205. You can then change where it stops but if you want it in the middle you need a straight arm so it does not look strange ( as 205 arms are bent ).

A standard arm actually works well, otherwise get a BX one and that will also work. They are straight but dont have a very big blade. I found a blade section that was a perfect size with a perfect size straight arm and then proceeded to step on it one day and broke the plastic retaining clip. Ill get onto it one day. You can plumb the spray into the BX one also and ditch the bonnet sprayers.

Did you get the idea from Macs205site? THats how I did mine and used the single wiper for about 2 years. It actually works really well and clears just like normal. Might put mine back one for a laugh!

Careful, if you run in any events under 3J rules it won't be legal.

Im struggling to know why you want LHD wiper arms? The RHD ones are the same when using them as a single wiper!

The right hand arms are bent to the opposite way so the wiper blade will be at the wrong offset when wiping in the oppodite direction

And vice versa? The LHD one will just do the opposite in the other direction! It sweeps the whole windscreen so will just do the opposite of the LHD one no?

It works fine with the RHD one. Ive done it twice and also tried different arms. Unless you get a wiper arm designed to do the full sweep, ( BX etc ) the standard one is actually better.
Just try it t begin with. You have to modify the mechanical arm anyway. Might as wel try it with the RHD and an see it you like it?

No its still only sweeping 90 degree as I'm not modifying the motor or mechs.

So you only want to sweep half the screen?

Yes. The Left hand drive wiper will mount on the passenger side shaft and in he home position will be about 90 deg (vertical) to the screen. There will be no modification to the motor / wiper driving mechs. So when the wiper operates, the wiper will will operate a 90 deg sweep toward the driver and return to the vertical position (home).

Reason?? - I have my camera mount on top of the dash as a driver view. The wiper gets in the way of this so the easiest way to solve this problem on the track is to change the wiper. (no I don't want to move the camera mount).

....I told you not to ask! lol

Ok, Makes sense. Will look naff mounted straight on a curved wiper arm but each to their own. Why not get a BX wiper ( straight ) from an OZ car and do the same thing your talking about with a straight arm?

Or Just get one from the UK forum. Im sure someone will have one. Or one of the french guys can send one over thats on the drivers site.

Yeah I'm looking at a straight one too. May have to try that first.

I'm pretty sure I have a pair of LHD front wiper arms, if you're still after a pair.

Let me dig them out and check how I can send them (or one of them, if that's all you need?).

If it can go as letter, it will cost peanuts to sell. If it has to go as packet, then it will cost quite a bit.

Either way, you can have it for just P&P cost.
