    Default Noisiest Mi16 in Australia.

If your car makes 165hp at the wheels, there is every chance you are 30ks faster than me at the bottom of the front straight.

Here is a clip of one of my outings to the island. Film is a bit unsteady, but the noise works ok. That really is my car making all the noise.

On that day, I struggled to get 185kph at the bottom of the front straight. Since then have fitted Quaiffe and better front struts. Next outing will see quad throttle bodies, 6 degree cam key and aftermarket ECU. Also finally fitted a dry sump as I had the oil light coming on in turns 1, 11 and under braking after Lukey Heights.

This may well be the noisiest Mi16 in Australia!

Yours sounds fantastic Ben. Notice the different 4th to 5th gear change points between the two. With the hybrid box (3rd, 4th & 5th from 75Kw 205) I'm grabbing 5th about 50-80 metres onto the straight. Was topping out at about 195 @ 7200 rpm for turn 1. I'll be changing the exhaust system for something less restrictive for my new build in chasing about 180hp atw since its no longer a road car.

    Default Best time to date.

My best time so far is 02:03:00. Not fast enough, but really hope to crack the 2 minute mark next time out. With new engine looking for mid 1:50s. May be dreaming....

Times weren't all that good. Too windy & cold. I've done a 2:01 with the old motor. I'm aiming to have the car ready for the Alfa sprints next Dec with a fully rebuilt-new engine, better suspension, new rubber & caged. Sounds far off, but there's lots to do in the meantime.

    Heres my (re)build thread-

BTW- I don't think mid to high 1:50's is out of reach given a good hot day.

i am thinking my car will do mid 150's soon, with quad tbs coming one day not too far off and the rear end a bit more planted (rear wheel comes about 150mm off the ground atm and stops spinning, slows the car considerably when it hits terra firma again.)

keep me posted when you are heading out, might just get me motivated to get mine on the track again..
