That V12 sounds fantastic. Either that car, or team mate John Goss' car, has only recently been restored. Interesting to see that in 20yrs the lap time has only dropped by 10secs.
    Cheers Simon

    The V12 sounds awesome!

And it's the old Conrod straight, no Caltex Chase. I wonder how much that would affect the times.

But dont forget the cars are going further now too Simon. In this video the "chase" wasnt down the bottom of conrod straight...
Murray : And there are flames coming from the back of Prost's car as he enters the swimming pool!
James Hunt: Well that should put them out then!

Nice Video Enjoyed watching the old Jag,not that many of the road versions seen over here nowadays only see them at classic car shows.

I can't wait to download it when I get home!
My brother is in the process of building up a hot V12 XJS at the moment for club racing & some street use. It was blistering before as standard, I can't wait to see how it goes now . (It's a manual of cause, the auto are hopeless) -Will

Please post images on this when it's done. Got a real soft spot for them. Dad bought a signal red one new in the UK in 1977 and bought it back to Australia with him. He still has it and it's only covered 45000kms. Twice class winner at the Jag national rally.

If anyone would like a much better quality download of the Walkinshaw lap and also an incar lap during the race, here they are:

I was the proudest kid in school that year. After years of Ford\Holden banter I had my day in the sun.
