    Default Ampol Trial 2006

    Hi all,
Im looking at participating in the Ampol rerun during april-may 2006, but I have a slight problem, NO NAVIGATOR!!
If anyone out there in AF land would like to come and be part of this event contact me on 0407 501 383 or mattdevaus@iprimus.com.au.
The vehicle I will be using is A Pug 203, 403 engine bored out to 1502cc twin 40mmIDF webber carbs C3 gearbox & 404 diff. Front & rear brakes are 404.
This vehicle competed in the 2003 Redex from Pt Augusta to the finish,Driven by Peter deVaus & Bob Watson. it had numerous top 5 outright times on the driving tests with a second placeat Collingrove Hillclimb to Bill Hamiltons V6 404!
You dont have to know how to find your way around (I can read a map ok, 2nd outright in the 2004 BP Rally as Navigator).
You would just have to bring yourself, your sense of adventure and a desire to have a great time without getting too serious about things.
I am going to have a good time and enjoy being part of this great event.
Costs: 50-50 in all on event expenses (I will cover vehicle prep). Could be any thing from $3500 up to about $5000 depending on the type of accomodation you require. (ie: it will be cheaper if we camp insterd of motels etc)
    Cheers Matt deVaus

As the event organiser I hope someone takes up Matt on his offer as I want to see this car in the event!
The car was built by Ivan Washington over a period of around 10 years using all of his experience gained since the late 1950s when he bought Bob Holden's race 203 and got in to Peugeots.
