    Icon10 Numerous 307s in 2006 WRC !!!!!

    Hi,

Some news are official, others are waiting to be offically announced...

With Peugeot retirement of WRC Championship at the end of this year, several 307s are now available for sold or rent to teams and/or drivers

The most impressive news(officially known since today!!!) is that Bozian will run at least 12 events next year under the OMV Racing team colors(OMV is a european natural gas developpment company, based in Austria) with Austrian driver Manfred Stohl and Norwegian driver Henning Solberg...

Both will start Monte-Carlo in january...

I'm already impatient to see the Pugs under the OMV color scheme(white, blue and green!!)

Other official news, french preparator BSA(Beuzelin Sport Auto) will also get a 307 wrc with which Swiss driver Olivier Burri will run the 2006 Monte-Carlo(the rest of the program isn't known yet)

Other news(non-official yet...) Finnish driver Toni Gardemeister would drive another 307 WRC, prepared by Italian team Astra, in Monte-Carlo(again!!)

In the same time, German driver Anthony Warmbold and French drivers Nicolas Bernardi and Didier Auriol would be discussing the possibility of separated programs with Bozian...

For next Monte-Carlo rally there could be at least five 307 WRC which would run the event!!!!

Have a look at this link:
    http://www.motorline.cc/article.php?...article=130657

You can see a drawing of what livery could have the OMV Peugeot Norway Rally team's cars!!!

Big surprise today for Austrian Manfred Stohl who has learnt he will run the 16events next year(instead of "only" 13)!!!

He will have a chance to fight with the big names for the 2006 driver title!!

    Read on http://www.stohl.at

And here a picture of his car(photoshop or reality??):

Is Henning Solberg any relation to Petter - looks like him (except he doesnt have the daggy ponytail).

Is Stohl still driving a Xzara? he did very well in last years rally Australia coming 3rd outright!

    Henning is Petter's older brother
Murray : And there are flames coming from the back of Prost's car as he enters the swimming pool!
James Hunt: Well that should put them out then!

Not bad at all for a new start with new drivers, the Pugs 307!!!!!

Toni Gardemeister, the "veteran"(he as the most experience of the rally among the 307 drivers)in his Astra 307 is currently 3rd overall and seriously threat Atkinson for 2nd...

Manfred Stohl and his OMV-backed 307 is 5th(+12s from podium only)

Henning Solberg and his Expret-backed 307 is currently 11th(knowing he's diovering the car AND the rally itself)

Olivier Burri in his BSA-backed 307 is currently 13th(knowing he's driving for fun, not for results - and he lost almost 1 minute to re-start a stalled engine too)

Let's tomorrow they all even improve their positions!!!

OUSTANDING results for half of the 307s squad after mid-rally(SS9) today!!!!

First, both drivers Toni Gardemeister and Manfred Stohl overtook Aussie Chris Atkinson and French Gilles Panizzi to reach podium positions

Then, Austrian Manfred Stohl managed to pass Finn Toni Gardemeister in the SS9(3rd stage of 2nd leg) by a handle of 10s!!

I think we couldn't expect the 307s being so high on the leaderboard!!! A dream for us...

Unfortuneately, Henning Solberg, Manfred's teammate in OMV Peugeot-Norway team, lost a lot of time in the 3 today stages because of wrong tyres choice(he's 14th overall)...

But rally is still long to go(9 stages left)...anything can happen.

More pictures of the event in the Peugeot squad!!!!!

I don't care which nationality winner is if he is winning with 206, Xsara or 307.

    GO STOHL!
    GO GARDEMEISTER!
    GO LOEB!

In SS10 at the moment. Loeb has overhauled Atkinson and Sarrazin and is now in 4th!

Gronholm still leading, followed up by Stohl and Gardemeister.
