Good news for Red Bull then...

My very early pick for next season's constructors is
    1st - McLaren
    2nd - Renault
    3rd - Honda

Is honda still under BAR for next year?

Newey might change his mind yet!

Nice score for Red Bull. But I thought they were on a low budget?

Huge. As their director said, luring Newey is bigger than luring Schumacher.

Remember Newey almost left McLaren back in '01 to go to Jaguar. Now it seems that he's decided to go through with it, and move to a smaller team for another challenge.

I'm sure that DC is absolutely over the moon!!

    Huge news. Unexpected as well.

I really hope Red Bull take another step forward, they really impressed me this year.

I agree. Did they make Jaguar look like tools or what?

no... Red Bull is owned by one of the richest men in the world, trust me when I say money is not the biggest hurdle this team have. Also thier image is so different from anyone else in F1, they attract different sponsors that others in Motorsport haven't sucked dry yet! I like their party attitude! - Chris

ps, I can't wait for next season.

I thought they reported their budget as being way lower than the big teams?

I know money is not a drama for Red Bull. Anyway, props to 'em.

I can't wait for next season either!

Great news - However I dont think that Newey's impact will be felt until 2007 as next years car would just about be signed off on by now.

There was some talk about him going back to Williams but this should be a new/good challenge for him!
Murray : And there are flames coming from the back of Prost's car as he enters the swimming pool!
James Hunt: Well that should put them out then!

    Default F1 budgets

Flavio reckons his achievement with Renault this year is all the sweeter because he had the FOURTH biggest budget!
    Presumably, 1 Toyota, 2 Ferrari, 3 McLaren

And yes 307 Feline, BAR are no longer with Honda. It's Honda/Honda.

good to hear its 100% backed by honda. It shows their are serious about development of their motorsport and road cars.

Hope Jenson does well for them next year. I think he has major potential.

No, it is something/Honda (just like Panasonic toyota).

    Flavio is my hero!

Honda to buy all shares in BARH
    By Bob Jennings
    Sunday October 9 2005

In a surprise move yesterday on the eve of the Japanese Grand Prix, Honda Motor Co. announced it would run its own team in Formula One next year and that it had agreed to purchase all share in BARH Ltd - the holding company which runs the BAR Honda F1 team.

so it looks like it will be honda/honda

There was also talk of Honda running a ''B team'' in the future.

Aguri Suzuki is setting up "Super Aguri Formula 1" which will run Honda engines. Apparently they wanted to compete in the 2006 season, and will basically use a modified BAR007 chassis, although I'm not sure how that will work. 2006 is a hugely optimistic deadline to meet.

Aguri F1 is adverstising for job opportunities on Autosport.com ... looks like he is planning on it going ahead.

The Red Bull owner is a Billionaire, so I have no doubt that the budget for the Red Bull F1 team will increase in time.

Rumours on f1racing.net say that Newey moved for 10 million pounds a year. Ron Dennis' largest offer was 6 million.

Nice work if you can get it

I'd take a job with any of the teams for $1.00 annual salary... doing anything they want.

Heres some more info on why Newey is moving.

    http://www.grandprix.com/ns/ns15910.html

Yea Honda bought BAR outright a while back so with Honda backing Button things should get better and better.

Should be a good year for F1 next year.

    Cheers chips.

Im happy to see some actual competion in F1 - compared to the domination of schumi years, 05 season was the best in a while IMO
