Default Xsara Oran Pk 17-18 Sept.

We had a pretty good weekend for round 7 of the Australian Production Championship. Dane qualified a fantastic 11th outright and 1st in class. Our first pole for the season and the first time Proton hasn't been on ploe since September 2002.

It went ok from there, with Dane posting a 2nd and 2 x 3rd placings, but set fastest lap in the final race. He also ran top 10 in the last 2 races.

    Congratulations.

Tell you something though; geez young Dane does well for himself given his tender years.

    Birth date: 18 April 1996
Does his mum & dad know what he gets up to at weekends?

I saw the car getting around Eastern Creek in the July round. I beleive it did well in the Production Car Championship chasing a Ford Focus.

All the cars in the class have to be stock except for removed exhaust/cat' is that right? and they are all on control tyres

There are a few changes you can make. Suspension is free. Cant change pick-up points. We run a Pro-Logger, so Cams can check we are'nt cheating. We run a different engine management system, bigger exhaust etc.

Every one is on the same Yokohama compound, different sizes of course. You can only run on the rim size which is standard.

The production web page is: www.pcaa.com.au
    Cams web page is: www.cams.com.au

Check them out for more info.

BJ, out of interest, what times do you do around Eastern Creek in the Xsara?

    brendon,

are you still running the standard rims? I don't know about the MkII series but the wheels on the MkIII weigh an absolute tonne and dont do the unsprung weight any favours. I know you dont have an infinite budget - but this is something you could possibly look into.

Dane did a 1m57.0748 on new tyres in July. I did a 1m58.7742 on old rubber from QLD (June) a few weeks ago at the state meeting.

We use a Speedy Wheel rim, alot lighter than standard.
