Tommi Makinen said in an interview that he was surprised by Bottas' speed during the Toyota WRC car test. Bottas achieved K Meeks time on the test section of the road in central Finland prior to the Rally of Finland.

    Hi,
And we know how well this sort of move went for Kimi and Kubica.

Kubicas outcome was tragic, but Kimi Finished 11th and 10th respectively in the Drivers champioship in 2009 and 2010, which I think is respectable given he had no previous rally experiance at that level.

Bottas is doing it for fun at this stage, I wish opporturnity to have such fun

Hi, noted re Kimi, but 10th and 11th is pretty much the back of the field in WRC championship!
Agreed as to the last line - my personal feeling is that WRC would without doubt be the most exciting motor racing going. I saw some time in the past where Loeb said that there was nothing like driving at speed through the forest and I'm sure that's true.

Looks like the view has support - The video in the article is worth viewing

Having fun in a Ford in Germany ahead of the German round of the WRC. He had couple of low speed spins, perhaps he's not used to the bitumen
