    Default F1 - 2019 - Silverstone

FP1 and Grosjean failed to make it out of the pits, not what the team needs at teh moment.

Pierre Gasly finally seemed to find some speed. He was the quickest in FP1, Bottas was seconds and Max third. I know FP 1 times dont mean much, but hopefully he can find some confidence in that time.

Dan Ricciardo killed another engine in Friday FP2 practice. Apparently it was an old high mileage engine wich had been delegated for practice running so little was lost. The team was also forced to change the chassis, which Dan had crackked running over a kerb.

Mers putting on a top show

Bottas started on pole having won it from Hamilton by .006 seconds. Doesnt get much closer than that.

Apparently the team strategy was going to be a race to the first corner and then hold station to save tyres, but it seems Hamilton is not big on strtegies that don't work out for him. Bottas won the start from pole and Hamilton was all over him pushing very hard, got past and Bottas passed him back and held the lead until Hamilton got the advantage of pit stop during pace car. They were also on different tyre strategies, Bottas on two stopper and Hamilton on one stop and with the pace rar ended up the winning strategy.

It will be interesting how compliant Bottas will be for team strategies in the future. Time will tell.
