    Default HSRCA This Weekend

    You should all come support a local sporting car club

    https://hsrca.com/sydney-classic/

    There is a bunch of cool crap running around the place, a list of Frenchies include;

    - Mr Ernst Luthi in a '71 Alpine A110 (Grp S)

    Poor Mr Ernst, where are the 8,10 and 12's to keep him company everyone

    But I confess I'm also looking forward to the;

    - Mark 2 Jag (Grp N)
    - Detomaso Pantera (Grp S)
    - Datsun 2000 (Grp S)
    - A host of Brabham (BT9's 29's, 21's)
    - A couple of Lola's
    - The Matich a53 (Brrrrrrrrom brrroooooom)

    But suppose cars from the empire are your thing, well the have a shed load of MG's this weekend, I shalt list them all but have a look for yourself here;

    HSRCA run a pretty nice race meeting actually. All in the paddock are generally pretty friendly and don't mind, and actually encourage punters to get there heads into their cockpits to ask silly questions.

    Woooo community racing.

    Look for Boydie in Car 25 the (red) Rilstone Clubman in the Super Sprint Class. Unfortunately I won't be there to get in the way as the Chancellor of the Exchequer and her chief accomplice have my weekend planned around the Braidwood book festival.

    A little far for me to travel, but agree, there are some nice old cars entered for that meeting.

    And yes, the local club meetings can be very enjoyable with virtually no crowd, interesting cars, and striking up conversations with various entrants usually rewarding.

    Fordman I feel you can be excused, everyone else. He's right. If you enjoy the smelly old machines you will enjoy yourself here.

    You really can walk into the pit garages and go..

    "Oi There! What is this flaming machine!"

    And no doubt there will be someone in a flat cap to smile at you and explain how on a stormy night, long long ago, a 10mm spanner did appear, in a dream, and from that.. ... ... .. .. ..

    I was there to give some moral support to Ernst and also to suss out the event with a view to perhaps entering my 1969 A110 in the regularity events in future. A lot cheaper than some other venues and closer to the ACT. Crews were great and happy to see you and talk about their cars. Pity about the fog on Saturday but eventually racing got underway. Sorry to see Ernst retire after the last race on Saturday on the last lap with a clutch issue.

    Pity about the A110 DNF on Saturday. A clutch is not too bad to repair. Not too expensive either.

    I was planning on running at the November meeting. No fog but usually very hot that time of year so be prepared, but at least it's easy to get temp in old tyres.

    Bazzamac do it.

    And not wrong about the Fog, it was epic. We had never seen it so thick.

    This was standing on the hill looking at Turn 2.

    Spectators where complaining about the delay,
    "They don't close the M7 when there is Fog like this, why close the race track?"

    I think it was because the marshalls needed to see the marshall's stations at either end of their own for safety reasons which I think is fair enough.

    Oh that last comment was with tongue firmly in cheek.
