Google the series. From a French perspective, Garry Rogers will be running Renault Meganes.
Live, free HD telecasts from SBS.
    Hooray, accessible motorsports.

OK, the Renaults were not at the Winton test, apparently they have not yet arrived in Australia.

Yes I went up. Cars look & sound fantastic. Yep, 1:23 only 4 seconds slower than the V8's.

SBS’s coverage of TCR Australia will begin on Saturday, May 18 at 1400 AEST, with one race to feature on the one hour show on Saturday, while Sunday’s broadcast will showcase two back-to-back races and run from 1300– 1500 AEST on May 19.

Yes, looks good. May rejuvenate my interest in motorsport if I can actually watch it on free-to-air TV. I also have an interest in Subaru and see that Molly Taylor (Australian Rally driver for Subaru) is competing in TCR with a WRX Sti, running only front wheel drive. Manufacturers are encouraged to support teams, but not enter "factory" teams, whatever that means 🙄. At least 2 supercar teams have changed their minds and have entries in TCR, namely the Kelly gang and Garry Rogers . If it takes off, wonder how long before the Supercars "company" buys them out, or forces them out, past history there.
Looking forward to the first event.

The TCR race format rules are interesting.

Each of the seven rounds will be run over three races and begin with a pair of half-hour practice sessions on Friday before 30 minutes of qualifying and a 30-minute race on Saturday.

On Sundays, only 30 minutes will be allowed between the end of Race 2 and the closure of pit lane for the start of Race 3, with the added challenge of a 10-minute parc ferme period following Race 2.
Teams will therefore have only the 20 minutes, at which time cars must be parked at 45 degrees on the pit apron, to effect any repairs between races.
Refuelling is not permitted but tank capacity covers the two races, and any other work is allowed.
40 points to the race winner in Races 1 and 2, and 50 points to the Race 3 winner.

Apparently there is 60Kg of weight that can be added or removed as a handicap, similar to the way PHS works in yacht racing. The weight the car carries depends on it's finish positions, the higher up your results, the higher the weight handicap. This is a great way to stop teams and manufacturers dudding the results!
Don't it always seem to go that you don't know what you've got 'til it's gone............

The Renaults arrived this week. I have seen some pics of the two cars sitting in the workshop at Gary Rogers Motorsport.
Drivers James Moffat and Chris Pither confirmed for the Renaults.

GRM will also be running the Alfa Romeo Giulietta Veloce.
