    As far as I can remember, Charlie has been the Race Director and waved the starting flag for most, if not all, Formula 1 races in the modern era.

    Natural causes, 66 years old. Too young to go.

    Apparently a pulmonary embolism was the cause. Maybe all Charlie's long distance flying may have cumulated in deep vein thrombosis, which is the usual culprit in a pulmonary embolism. Vale Charlie!
    Don't it always seem to go that you don't know what you've got 'til it's gone............
