The beginning of the end or the end of the beginning. Midfield or up the front.

He might have driven a Toro Rosso with a Honda engine in it and decided that Renault might be the better option!

A big day for aussiefrogs, an aussie in F1 and in all french car team! My life is complete.

Great move by Danny, he would always be second fiddle to Max, Vettle and Hamilton if he joined the current top 3. But also Renault have a great chance of being the number 3 team next year with RBR going with Honda.

I never saw this coming, but what a brilliant move from Danny Ric!

Danny was between rock and a hard place. Red Bull are going Honda engines next year and I suspect it will take time for Honda to come good, if ever. Red Bull have also made it clear thatMax was their future by the massive increase in his contract and RB failed to meet Daniels wishes it was obviously time to look elsewhere. The way I read it Ferrari don't want him and Mecr have signed their current drivers so not many options left for him. I hope his punt pays off for him, he is top talent, just ask Vettel

re Raikkonen. He is waiting to see if he has a Ferrari contract for next year before he makes any decisions. Tomi Makinen has said publicly that if Kim's wants to test a Toyota WRC car, he will make one available. Kim's has also said WRC is option post F1.

I can't see Kim's driving for Sauber, but if McLaren/Renault/Haas offered him a seat he might take it on.

Vettel and Hamilton didnít want a real threat from a team mate. Seeing it was the Renault power unit that has let him down a number of times it seems odd that he now embraces them as his best chance. He must know something positive about their progress that isnít obvious to us.

Its more about being in a works team. Priority over engine upgrades before customer teams, new parts etc. Its also a team that he can build around himself. If your up to date with whats happening in F1 next year will be a very ‘opportunistic’ year similar to 2009 when Button took the crown. Theres marked aero changes for next year followed by engine and gearbox changes the following year. His risk or aim is to match what Lewis did with Mercedes. They were midfield when he stsrted with them and now look where they are.

He will miss the Red Bull chassis but probably not the new Honda engine.

F1 rules require exactly the same spec for customer engine users.
The worst part of F1 is the fragile and complex front wing which tends to eliminate both cars from contention from even minor contact.

Daniel contract with Renault is said to be for 2 years and worth 30 million euros per year, big hike in the pay stakes, so good on him, wish him all the best
