Default Motorsport / Motorkhana in Tasmania

Noticed there were a few people that enjoy their motorkhanas. I compete in the sealed surface ones in Tasmania on the concrete pad at Symmons Plains, and hopefully will also do the sealed ones at Latrobe Speedway as well. I'm using my stock, recently acquired 206 GTI. Have gone alright, (set a 3rd fastest in the last meet against some very well setup cars), but have a lot of room to move in terms of suspension and wheel alignment. Let one of the front runners borrow the Pug for his final test, and he was a convert!

Also keen on accompanying some others in going to the National Motorkhana in Sydney this year as well if all goes well financially. A good friend of mine did the nationals in Mt Gambier last year and won his class, so it has spurred some of us on to have a go (and a holiday!).

    Hi Mitch

There are some quick cars and good drivers up the pointy end of the field.

I was in the Mystic Green Renault R12 at that meet.

Next one is at Bothwell on May 20 organised by MGCCT, next one at Symmons is May 26 organised by MSCT.

See you at the next one

    Hey Col,

Will hopefully see you at both. Bothwell and Symmons are now a day after each other, symmons is now the 19th (as per their website, not the CAMS calendar) as MST moved the MSCT's motorkhana to accommodate another event.

Kudos for driving the R12, doesn't look like the easiest thing to manage!

Thanks for the heads up Mitch on the dates, will look on MSCT website.

The R12 does not have power steering so its a bit of a workout driving it.

I have made a change to the car so will see what difference it makes.

I also think the driver needs a few changes as well, would probably make the car faster.
