    Default F1 - 2017 Abu Dhabi - Spoiler alert

Final round of 2017. Seems like Merc and Ferrari are setting the pace with Red Bull there or thereabouts.

Some interesting Driver's Championship points still to be fought for.

Bottas is 22 behind Vettel. If he was to win and Vettel had a DNF then they would swap places in the results! (unlikely to happen though)

Also Raikkonen is only 7 points behind Ricciardo. That could be a good battle to concentrate on.

Highlights on Ch 1 at 10:30pm tonight.

Apparently a good race but not so lucky for Daniel Ricciardo.

    Cheers

Ricciardo clipped the wall with the right rear on lap 20 and then pitted straight away for new tyres as he thought he had a puncture.

He didn't get much further and retired the car with hydraulic problems on lap 21.

As a result he slipped from 4th to 5th in the championship standings as Raikkonen, who was 7 points behind Ricciardo, picked up 12 points to finish 5 ahead of him.

Finally got to watch the "highlights" of the race. Looks like it's a track that it is very difficult to pass on, so it becomes a procession. Verstappen complained he was faster than Raikkonen but due to the track was force to follow. Red Bull boss said the same about Hamilton, claimed he was faster than Bottas but couldn't get past. Apparently on this track getting under 1 second gap behind the car in front is problematic.

    Race results

    1/ Bottas
    2/ Hamilton
    3/ Vettel
    4/ Raikkonen
    5/ Verstappen
    6/ Hulkenberg

The rest can be found at:- https://www.formula1.com/en/results....abu-dhabi.html

The non finishers were Sainz and Ricciardo

    The drivers championship

    1/ Hamilton 363
    2/ Vettel 317
    3/ Bottas 305
    4/ Raikkonen 205
    5/ Ricciardo 200
    6/ Verstappen 168

    Constructor standings

    1/ Mercedes 668
    2/ Ferrari 552
    3/ Red Bull 368
    4/ Force India 187
    5/ Williams 83
    6/ Renault 57
    7/ Toro Rosso 53
    8/ Haas 47
    9/ McLaren 30
    10/ Sauber 5

Even though Stroll finished last in this race and had an unsteady start to the year, he managed 40 points for the season, only three less than Massa, which is much better than I expected. I think he may develop into a competent F1 driver given time.

The Force India drivers provided plenty of entertainment during the year and if not with their performance, then their combat. Fourth on the Constructor table is nothing to be sneezed at, but bit more co-operation with the drivers and they have have got little closer to Red Bull on the points table.
