Default Kubica back in F1 car

Kubica returned to the track for the first time in a F1 car since the rally accident which damaged his hand in 2011. He has not driven a F1 car since. Last Tuesday he drove the 2012 Lotus/Renault at Valencia. He was reportedly faster than Renault 's reserve driver Sergei Sirotkin.

Renault driver Jonathan Palmer is currently under pressure re performance.

More information seems to be filtering about the above test

Kubica proved not just his speed, but also his fitness by competing 115 laps at the above test. Renault had made minor modification to the gear changing mechanism for Kubica, so that the he could perform both up and down changes with one hand.

Kubica is keen to make the comeback for F1. He claims he is the fittest he has ever been and his weight is under what it was in 2008.
