We'd rather you didn't post or even take photos when the weather is like this up here, it's bad for business ...

Queensland:- cloudy one day raining the next?

PS. The 306 Gti-6 auctioned last and went for $105 (twice the price of most)! A 504 went for $25 (Purchased back by the owner, good car), no offers on the 406,the 505 sedan was that good that the Parry drove it back to Sydney.

Not a day! A very long run in old cars - https://www.shitboxrally.com.au/

If someone asked me for the perfect car for this, I'd say a 505. They have stopped making cars built like them.

I did the Shitbox Rally NZ earlier this year. One of the most amazing experiences of my life. They provide the cars there, and teams just make a contribution for it. After 3 Peugeot's in last year's rally, there were none this year. We had a 2000 Mitsubishi Galant with 320,000km. Looking forward to the Australian rally, but there's a 2-3 year waiting list for it.

There was another Peugeot in it, a 1979 504. 62km out of Port Augusta (just over half the first day) it blew a head gasket and was out of the rally. At the overnight stop someone came up to the team and said "My brother died 5 years ago of pancreatic cancer aged 22 so I would like to donate this car to you, and if you can please take this photo of him on the Rally to Cairns with you." Someone gave them their VT Commodore wagon to finish the rally. Kind of pretty spectacular, but one of those things that happens on the rally.

There was a couple of guys that did last year's rally in a Citroen CX. Aside from using LHM, it proved pretty reliable. So they decided to tempt fate even more and bought a Fiat X1/9 for this year's rally. Ended up on a trailer the first day, got going the second day, repaired for second day then broke down again. Ended up being declared terminal on day 3. Such a shame for all the effort they put in.

The rally raised just over $1.6m for cancer research. Add that to the $450k the NZ rally raised earlier and that's a pretty big effort to help fight cancer. There's another rally (Mysterybox) coming up in November that's nudging $100k already and should raise $500k. $2.5m for cancer research is a pretty spectacular effort.
