Hanninen (Toyota) took a corner wide towards the end of SS1 and hit bridge. The car was damaged and caught fire. Took them some time to put the fire out. What does that make it, three accidents in four events? Monte Carlo, Sweden and now Corsica. He missed out on having one in Mexico.

Two more stages to run today

Some of the drivers are concerned over tyre wear on the long bitumen stages in warm climate.

LOL, I have no such recollection

Latavala has stated that the car is good, but he is too tentative on the dry bitumen, he has to do better.

Looks like Hanninen has found some speed with 2nd place in SS5 & 6 after his off.

Ogier only 7th fastest on SS6 and Meeke 9th .fastest. Meeke retired after SS6 due to engine problem. Ogier was off pace through SS6 but can't put a finger on the reason.

Evans had an off during SS5, going straight ahead on left hand bend. He is not expected to rejoin.

Lefebvre clouted small wall 5.5 km into the SS5, not expected to continnue

Tanak was forced to do some roadside repairs on SS5 in order to get to a service point for team to fix the problem. He replaced spark plugs, coil pack and the ECU.

SS5 was delayed part way through as Martin Koci driving a WRC2 had an off and officials sent a medical crew onto the stage to deal with the incident.

Edit:- Mikkelsen and Sunninen are WRC2 competitors.

Ogier was reduced to two wheel drive affecting his performance on SS8. Hydraulic problem. On SS9 Ogier had intermittent electrical problem and is unsure if he able to complete the power stage.

No sign of Hanninen in SS9 results. Some early reports suggest he ran off the road, surprise surprise.

i am most amused at the name of the event sponsor: "che guevara energy drink".

i reckon if Che is looking (or up) from some after life, he will be saying " WTF??!! how could it have come to that?!"
