Default WRC - Change in 2017 to running order rules

"The current regulation forces the championship leader to run first on the road for Friday and Saturday of every WRC round, seriously handicapping progress on dry gravel rallies."

    "
Wednesday's WRC Commission meeting in Paris has decided the running order for next year will leave the championship leader first on the road on only the opening day.
For Saturday and Sunday, the cars will run in reverse classification order in the same way they did in 2014."

The points will also be awarded to fifth place 5-4-3-2-1 instead of the first three currentlu 3-2-1.

Bloody wimps! Dry gravel, wet gravel, dirt, snow, potholes......they want the road graded for them by the slower cars every section. If you want to lead, lead from the front, if you are good enough. Otherwise, use something called strategy.........
Don't it always seem to go that you don't know what you've got 'til it's gone............

no, noone is complaining about the road surface. they (ie Ogier who is always disadvantaged) is complaining about consistently having to run on a slower surface than his competitors. which makes an unfair competition for him. were it not for that, god knows how far ahead he would have in the points.

no, noone is complaining about the road surface, per se. they (ie Ogier who is always disadvantaged) is complaining about consistently having to run on the course first, when the road surface is looser than when his competitors make their subsequent runs. so the complaint is not about 'the surface'. it is a recognition that 'the surface' changes with each pass, and is the slowest for the first runner. so the crux of the complaint is that there are faster and slower surfaces in each leg of the rallies, and he is always running on the slowest one. if it was the same for everyone he wouldnt be complaining about.

now, kim, here comes the plane with the food, so open your mouth so it can fly in.... good boy!
