He looked good. It seems when he gets a real tough competitor in the other garage he seems to up the game.

I think the strategy for Ric was to test the limits for Saturday afternoon. I dont think the Mercs were at full chat for that session. It definitly makes for interesting racing and Im very excited for Saturday/Sunday.

They have also changed the entry into the first section of the swimming pool allowing a straighter entry. Its taken some of the challenge out of it according to Dan it it looks much easier to enter and straighten the car for the flick to the right. Martin Brundle is quoted saying he cant believe how much faster the red bull cars were through this section.

Hamilton absence from Monte Carlo looks like more nonsense from Italian press. Hamilton has taken part in both practice 1 and 2 in the lead up to Monaco. Qualifying next

And then gets "screwed" by his team when in the lead after they called him to the pits and had no tyres for him.

This held him up just long enough for Hamilton to pass and lead and win the race.

It seems the team made a call to change the tyres type the last moment, too late it would seem. Thats two races in the row he has been messed with. He wasnt happy

No, he certainly wasnt! i think there is only one logical conclusion: RBR's secondary objective ie after winning F1 championships, is to ruin the careers of aussie F1 drivers.

seeing ricciardo on the podium reminded me yet again of the world's attitude to winning:
    -winning is everthing
-coming second means youre a bit of a loser
-third is so inconsequential, and invisible, it doesnt even qualify for 'shame'.

Dont attribute to malice that which can be explained by incompetence.

Because Dan had TQ'd and because it was Monaco, I returned from my Foxtel induced, self-imposed exile of watching F1 (and V8's) and it was a good race to watch, although the Keystone Cops scene in Daniel's pit stop left me in disbelief. Let's just hand the race to Mercedes, eh boys?
However, it does look promising for Daniel for this year with the new power unit.

The nature of the track negates the HP advantage at Monaco to some degree and lower speeds mean that the balance is more in favour of mechanical grip than aero. I think they will still struggle on faster tracks, but it was a great effort, aside from the pit stop.
