Default US F1 GP - How little margin between teams?

How little is the real performance margin between teams, when a slightly wet track (already drying from the start of the race) allowed the Red Bulls to catch and actually overtake the Mercedes? Hard to tell from just the highlights package, but for probably one third of the race, all the cars seemed to be very competitive. I found it quite amazing that even on a semi-dry track, the Mercedes just couldn't get away.

Come on, Renault, get with it!

The opinion seems to be that Red Bull have excellent chassis/aero, but are down on power.

I don't think anything has changed other than the weather conditions.

Red Bull were on the pace in the wet and once the track tried and slick came out, they were no longer on the pace.
