Default New F1 record for McLaren-Honda

McLaren have new record for the number of grid place penalties after Belgium GP

    Jenson Button 95

    Fernando Alonso 75

    Max Verstappen 25

    Daniel Ricciardo 10

    Daniil Kvjat 10

    Romain Grosjean 7

    Kimi Räikkönen 5

    Sebastian Vettel 5

With 8 GP's left to run, they have plenty of opportunity to add to this tally

I really hate this new engine token stuff. Where is the incentive for new manufacturers to join if they can't use their resources to develop a power unit, push the boundaries and try new ideas. F1 has lost its way.

The intent was to reign in costs, but I agree, the way it's been set up is counter productive in many ways. There has to be better ways to cap engine development costs.

    Edit:-
According to Lotus, their engine costs have gone up from $8m to $40m, which is a significant increase. The below article is dated November 2014, so not sure what increases Lotus are quoting, given they changed engine supplies. Either way, appears that the attempts to control (engine) costs is not working.
