    Default Sandown Sprints 23rd November

The Alfa Club are running another of their timed sprint events at Sandown on 23rd November.

It is open to anyone who has a Cams L2S licence and belongs to a Cams affiliated car club.

Car requirements are a fire extinguisher, helmet, bonnet strap & blue triangle for battery position. They even sell adhesive race numbers on the day.

A lap/ sash seatbelt is fine and the Alfa Club will provide an instructor for any 'first time at the track' entrants. They are even doing a special price for first timers. (see website for details).

Supplementary Regulations, Entry Forms and Scrutineering sheet available here-

    ..and click on Competition.

I notice there is entered the Group A ex-Peter Jackson Nissan Skyline, the car which pre-dated the all conquering Richards/Skaife 'Godzilla' RB30's so worth a trip out just to see it IMO.

Entry is free & you can get close up & personal with all the cars & drivers.

It would be great to see more French cars there amongst the mostly Euro field.

Have fun at Sandown and hopefully the weather cooperates. I'll be away checking out the alpine roads that weekend.

I watched your Sandown video. Seems like you shift into fifth gear just after the beginnning of the front and back straights. Are you running a very short ratio or final drive?

Yes, changed the gearbox & used shorter ratios, shorter final drive & plate diff. Rev limit now raised which should get me closer to the next corner before hitting the limiter.

Jeff, I'll do my customary wander down. This time a thermos of the finest coffee and 'sticky bun'.
Hopefully the young lad from AROCA doesn't try and repeat his previous efforts. Aside: when I turned up on Cup Day (Annual FFCC event) a Celica AWD turbo was going home with a very pushed in snout.

Yeah, drop down. Looking forward to a good day. Not a lot of those Celica's left-one less now by the sound of it!

I was going to come out for a squizz but instead spent Cup Day extracting fault codes from the EL for an intermittent transmission issue.
