aside from anything else about it, you have to be impressed by the total control the family has exercised over the news flow. ie the lack thereof!

I would suspect that any progress would be extremely slow and over a long term, so probably not much to report and what is reported in Europe, very little of it makes the media in Oz anymore.

    Latest I read:-
    Very little if any change
    Cant talk.
Has difficulty with any form of communication.
Can sit up in wheel chair.
One sad comment I read claimed he cries when he sees his children.
Family have spent 10 million Euro's on his care.
Sadly, after this long, I would be very surprised if there is going to be any noticeable improvement in his condition but I take my hat off for the family for the doing their best to look after him..

Damnit that is really sad. Sad for us but really sad for him and his family, I can't imagine what that would be like.

It doesn't really say much. After this amount of time, any "improvements" are likely the learning of compensatory behaviour rather than neurological repair/recovery.

The way I read it is there is improvement, but it's slow and minute (for want of a better word)

odd thing about this sorry tale, is the frequency with which people with some historical connection MS, make statements about his progress, when they plainly arent authorised to do so. then MS' wife makes a statement saying 'they arent authorised to comment and dont know anyway'. then it goes quiet for another 6 months.

Lastest non-news. It's a terrible place for the family to be in and I say that having been in a somewhat comparable position with my brother long time ago, but it was only few days, not years.

An awful thing for anybody to endure...would be good if he does improve and the medicos gain knowledge as he progresses that may help others in the future. I wouldn't wish his injuries on anybody.......even Shitshaven!

It does sound as though he has sustained the sort of brain injury that many, many people just don't recover from. Although it's good to remain optimistic, four years down the track his family would have had to come to accept that he will more than likely not recover. Even if he did, what sort and level of disabilities would remain? The chances of Michael Schumacher recovering to the point of being able to have the sort of life he did before the incident would surely have to be fanciful?

Given that it's about 4 years since the accident, together with almost no news of his condition, I would read that his condition has at best improved very marginally, if at all and yes I agree, any meaningful recovery is probably more in the area of hope than medical science, although once in a blue moon, one hears of a miracle recovery, but .......
