    Western Sydney DRAG NITE!!!

Who does not like Wednesday the 18th December 2013? (This is the last chance this year)!

People intending entering should check their car's entry eligibility and other requirements - Home - Sydney Dragway

Note: Helmets must not be over 10 years old.

Pugs and other froggie cars welcome.

Just turn up as individuals and post result sheets later!

Remember it does not matter how slow your car is as we will all be down the bottom of the times anyway.

Spectators note: for an additional $30.00 over your entry fee you can find out how fast your car will go down the 1/4 and if you snare one of the top three reaction times on the night you will share in a $600 prize. I know people that enter just to compete for the reaction time $$$$. There is a far bigger prize if you can snare 0.000 R/T.

Hope to see some froggie cars there or read some good excuses.

I've had not a lot of joy finding out much info on helmets. They (WSID) are now saying helmets must state specifically AS1698:2006 yet when you surf various potential suppliers, they kind of avoid such citations... This frustrates me not so much as I feel thwarted at any possible track time, but more that on one hand they're saying how accessible the events are - yet on the other, there's scant auxiliary information on aspects of compliance.

Anyway, helmet money will buy some four pot Brembos which I don't need, or a new Valeo 605 condenser (which I do need) so spectator it is!

If you had a son with a 132Kw motorcycle you could borrow his helmet for the night.

I once bought a complying helmet for $35, as it was over 10 years old Western Sydney Drags did not like it (Oh well, as someone said "it would be OK for a $35 head").

Have you tried a motorbike shop or borrowing the Postman's?

That's very good information Graham - I had no idea they would be relatively cheap. Good bike helmets seem to be many hundreds.

Thanks Peter, but until that infamous episode is out of my life (maybe eight weeks now!), I'm not comfortable taking on more risk.

Would be even more 205 action down here, but I gave up trying to promote it to the outside world.
If the drags appeal we can get a group together for Calder.
I did this 30 years ago in a standard 504 and ended up winning three runs out of 4!

I should be there before the gates open at 4:30, though I don't have to go to work anymore.

5 will probably get you at least 4 runs in (depends how many turn up).
