    Good shakedown test.
I have confirmed that I'm going to Canberra so unless something goes wrong I will be there on the 26th.

I had to laugh at that, the traffic light RT is my favourite on-road game.

Tweaked my back last Tuesday morning or the Monday (not 100% sure when but it suddenly came on at 0600 Tues) and have been in serious pain since then; even regular driving G-forces hurt it. A week of mostly lying down sucks.

Is it time for another AUSSIEFROG WEDNESDAY DRAG NIGHT?

    Western Sydney Dragway?

"When the clutch drops the bullshit stops!"

    WEDNESDAY NIGHT 12th December???

    All froggie cars welcome.

You don't have to own a fast car, a very safe way to have a bit of fun and find out how to get away from the traffic lights a bit quicker. Entry costs $40 for a great night.(Cheapest motorsport I know off.) There is also a chance for anyone to win $300+ on the reaction time competition! Home - Sydney Dragway (Click on EVENTS and then the date 12-12-18)

Just turn up as individuals and post result sheets later!

I've never entered a drag meeting before. Are there any tricks on a sticky drag strip launching a fwd car ?

What made 12th Dec the choice of dates ?

    Cheers

Great safe fun drag meetings, safe for drivers and the car. Anyone can do it. We will be towards the slower cars there. I don't try to beat others I just try to improve my techniques and times.

Launching your car is what it is ALL about. You can gain or very easily lose 0.2sec on the launch. The main trick is not too much wheel spin.
I would start by using about 1000 rpm more than one would use for a brisk (Your best) traffic light start (The strip is a bit grippier than the road). Once you change into 2nd gear there is not much skill required (Unless of course a car has hundreds of hp).

12th Dec was picked to give some lead time, before the weather starts warming up big time and being just before Xmas there may not be huge entry numbers, which may give us an extra run down the strip. If I arrive 4:45'ish I usually get 5 timed runs in before the 10pm finish. Many people leave for hols just after Xmas day.
    The date was not definite??.

The track can be quite sticky and as Rob has said, dial in a few more revs and once you get movement bury your foot (adjust for nextime) and hope the wheels dont light up too much. I managed a 60ft time of 2.1 seconds in my 16v 205 a few years ago. You will feel it ‘hook up’ as they say when you get the right spin rate on the tyres. I did a small burnout beforehand. Go and watch once you have your car through the pits and see how others are gettig on. Its great fun and also nice being able to really enjoy your car at higher speeds when you cross the line.

    Under 15 this time rob?

    Great night at the drags!

9 timed runs, and home at 9:15pm.

    No rain!

    $40:00

    Fastest run 15.356s.
    Best 60 foot 2.224s
    Fastest over line 141.87km/h
    Fastest reaction time, minus 0.009s

4th fastest I have done, though 0.165s slower than my best time run 15.191s April, 2013.
Not bad considering I forgot to pump the rear tyres up or remove the air filter element or check the plugs.
    Holds its tune well apparently.

Doubt this 205 can go quicker.
