Hi jdb, I'm thinking I am going to have to buy that 66 ID19 - the one in the ccoca mag. It looks extremely original and in pretty good order for the pirce- same ballpark as VB. Owner is on the wallaby until august so i may have to commit sight unseen again....wot do you reckon? - mob

Hi jdb,Leconte here. Did you see the "deceased estate CX" on AF? Going very cheap or free if you bypass FC it seems, could be a pick up for someone who likes the cx model (you!).

    Hi again jdb,

There is a 1000 char limit on these msgs. So rest of conv follows:

One other thing I should mention that because it's on LHM and so on, it's not going to have the same feel to a real ID 19 of that vintage in terms of suspension. Again, have a look at this ad and see this car as it could be the better buy... Even if you spend 10K on it, at least it'll be original and true to form!

FOR SALE: 1966 ID 19 ~ Heidleberg Car

CitroŽn 1966 ID19 Heidleberg car in fair condition, runs and lifts needs restoration.Unfortunately, health reasons stop me from restoring this car. Price $6,500. Chassis No 193018733. Phone Ken on 04 0938 7606 or email [email protected]

... and as for the GS, it looks to me like it's had a crunch in the front if the bent bonnet and incorrect grille is anything to go by. A good GS is like an early D - nigh on impossible to find in exceptional condition....

Hi JDB, MOB here. I have been chatting through these private messages with Donat, who has a 1962 ID19 like the one white one I looked at yesterday. He is pointing out quite a number of non- standard features on the car and reckons I could do better. His advice is to forget it based on what I reported to him. Have to take some notice of that. His car looks very nice. He also comments on the Goulburn GS - he thinks it has had a front end prang at some point - see last paragraph. Could be a bargaining point. The other thing to ask is how much papaerwork comes with it (we want everything possible, every last receipt etc) plus ask whether there are any parts, books or anything else with it. Certainly worth asking...

    Cheers mark
    Conv with Donat:

From what you've said about the car, I would personally not buy it. Even if it was around the 15K mark. I'm sure I could rustle up a better one for that price and one that's a turn key. I managed to find mine without too much hassle
