    Hello There,
I've just seen your advertisement for bits and pieces in your collection that are for sale, and whilst the whole ad caught my eye, I was wondering whether you could tell me a bit about your Vespa. What kind of state is it in, and would you happen to have any photographs (sorry to be an enormous bother), or an idea of a price that you may be after?

Sinerest thanks, and I look forward to hearing from you,
    Hamish

Looking to sell the Clio for $12,000
  7. perhaps mine was made in 55 but wore a 56 chassis id in anticipation of a 56 delvery but was further delayed hence the 7 above the 6
  8. cheers...I know
and generally I agree with you but the slough production of the DS was unique in many respects and there is enough contradicting info for me to question the yr..
I think the very fact it was marked as a 56 model on the chassis plate leads me to believe it was Intended to be a 56 release and that only the delay in parts led the factory to then mark a line across and call it a 57. Just because the factory saw fit to then say it was a 57 model doesn't mean it was...
If it was made in 57 why would the 56 chassis plate be there? the factory in france made this body in 56 then sent it to the slough factory for finishing which wasn't completed in time...
The original owners details in NZ that Michael Pass has supplied show that it was in NZ early 57 further backing my theory up...
all in all it's my opinion and remains so until someone backs up opinion with evidence

I'm not accusing you of anything in regards to the advertising of the vehicle

What i am saying is that if a car is first reg'd in a particular year then it generally falls into that years model run

My GTi6 was manufactured late 97 yet it was first reg'd in this country early 98 which makes it a 98 model car not a 97 and as such is reg'd as a 98a being early 98 model run
this would make your car a 57 and there is nothing wrong with that

A cars years model is generally marked as when it was first reg'd
i have owned many cars that were built 12 months or more before they were reg'd
this is easier when compliance plates came into play
