Citroen AX help! Control arm bush

I am refurbishing the control arms on the 1990 AX GT I picked up just before Xmas, and I have bought a TRW JBU145 bush for one side and a Sasic 2005253 for the other from different suppliers as they are NLA.

The TRW was a very tight press fit, whilst the Sasic is loose and swivels on the pin and just slides off. Can anyone tell me is this bush supposed to rotate on the pin, or is it supposed to be fixed. The ones I took off needed to be carefully cut off and did not swivel at all and the TRW I had to press on.. Both parts have same Citroen part number 96133255

The car came with 2 extra control arms, and the bushes on those ones don't rotate either.

I think it might be same as your 306
Finger tight front bolt and rear bush mount, fit strut, then tighten rear bush bolts, fit wheels and put car on ground, rock car, then tighten front bolt to pinch the bush in place at normal ride height.

Do the pin diameters measure the same with a vernier/micrometer?
Parts catalogue shows pin is threaded, probably loctited as well. Try and unscrew pin (with bush still on) from one of the other arms and then press pin out of bush instead of cutting it off.
Spareto show some other brands in stock.

I think it should be fixed. TRW show the part JBU145 as discontinued and the bush internal diameter as 13.8mm whilst SASIC, same Citroen part number show it as 14.1mm so that is where the difference is. I can see other brands avialable in the UK, and Autodoc have 1 of the TRW JBU145 available so I might get that and follow your advice about setting it up and tightening on the car.

It will be a cool little car to have back on the road. I remember them when they were new whilst growing up in the UK.
