Attempting to make an Alpine A 110 replica NOT a genuine A 110 copy.

Before you get to carried away with this project, you may want to check what the current requirements are to get a one off car registered in your state.

Others have been down this path before making chassis for these cars and also making bodies.

Thanks for your advice, Col. Been staring at a 10% model of the A110 for too long. Why not a 100% model? Never to be registered!

OK, a race car that looks just like an A110. Simple solution is to just buy some cheap old race car with all the bells and whistles, fitting a fibreglass/Kevlar/carbon replica body shell of an A110 body over the top.

Check the dimensions against a real A110, adjust as required, job done.

Also similar to the process available with a Lotus Europa copy. Buy a body shell from Banks Europa and build a chassis to drop it over. Or the many variations of a Ford Gt40 kit car.

Much easier than starting with a blank sheet of paper.
