Passed this place the Sunday before last on a motorbike ride and thoght I'd check it out when it was open. It's in a little town called Nobby.

The guy running the place is a bit of a car nut, so thankfully tries to save things from going to the shredder.
He likes Jowett Bradfords, there's a ute on the office roof and a van out the back. He also said he had another 4 Bradford vans at his house.

This is a 1952 AEC, it has a Leyland Hippo engine, and a pretty rare (for the time) sleeper cab. Other than some missing glass it's remarkably straiģht and complete.

Ford Blitz, SWB, single wheel, 4x4s aren't that common in these. The side valve V8 looks to be 100% complete and I could turn it over with the fan.

An old Case, and an old Fordson tractor, both running steel wheels.

Toyota Crown ute was pretty straight (even the load floor) and complete, only thing really missing was the tailgate.

Old generator, wasn't branded, but I'm thinking being a V4 that it's a Wisconsin.

Probably didn't take this from the best angle. This old Golden Fleece fuel tanker was very straiģht and with its patina it would look great on an old survivor truck. The Blitz maybe?🤔

A welder for the big jobs. Again not branded but the nickel plated radiator is pretty flash for a piece of industrial equipment. Side valve, 4 cylinder, power plant.

Couple of old Thames trucks, again very complete, right down to their B&W number plates.

Poor old Dodge Power Wagon has come to an inglorious end as a sign for the local general store.

Oh when I was talking to old matey about his Bradfords, I said, "did you see the woody wagon one on Marketplace"?
He sort of looked at me like I was pulling his chain, so I found the picture I'd put up on here on the "unusual car" thread.
I could barely get my phone back off him.
He may be adding another Bradford to his collection if it's still for sale.🤣

I went for a drive out to Crows Nest today and had a look at the Historical Village while I was there. Not a lot for a car nut, but probably still worth stopping for a look if you were already passing through.

Other than a mis-shaped front bumper this Austin Lancer was a very nice car.

I forgot how big an Austin A70 is, particularly in height, more like an SUV. Very nice car.

1976 264 Volvo would have benefited from a cut and polish, but a nice original car. '76 was the first year in Aus for the V6 Volvo with its Douvrin engine that was shared with Renault and Peugeot.

Farmall tractor with the drivetrain offset to the L and the driver's seat/controls offset to the R.

Couple of old steel wheelers. Fordson and a McCormick Deering.

Fancyy pants Case with its rubber tyres.😉

Horse could do with a rest break.

I did fuel up before I left.😁

That's a Farmall A. I learnt to drive on one. Still have one. Cutest tractor ever.

IH called the offset arrangement Culti-Vision. It was designed to provide a better view of the row crops you were cultivating.
Yes it looks a bit more vision friendly than the old clunkers I learnt on.

That Crown Ute is crying out for a 2JZ rat rod restoration!

Wonderful, I must visit. I learnt to drive in a Blitz in 1951, 15 years old.

Hey, you can relive your youth with another Blitz!

Went for a spin around some of the back roads around here the other day. There's no shortage of old metal laying around.

This is a 1970 Atkinson left in a paddock. It used to belong to my ex neighbour and it's been dumped on a property about 7 kms out of town. He also had a 1930s Bedford and I can just make out the back of it behind the tipper.

These tractors haven't moved from this shed for as long as I can remember.

Early 80s Benz, HQ ute, and there's another old model car in front of the ute vehicle under the bushes, but I can't remember what it is.
These are around the corner from that camouflaged 2 door Marina I posted on another thread.

Row of cars on a farm, half the cars in the area have the same sort of woody weeds growing over them. Must be car-nivorous.🤣
I think one is an early 808 Mazda, the others?🤷‍♂️

Couple of old D series Dodges, one single and one double cab.

FX or FJ Ute, couldn't see the front of it.

Old crane truck, '40s Chev?
20231103_211138.jpg

This is a short bus, very rounded ends, long way off the road, so 1950s maybe.🤷‍♂️

There's actually 3 Beetles here there's another one in between the white and the gold one.

I also took photos of a HD Holden panel van and a very early Land Rover, but for some reason they came out very blurry.
I know where there are lots of other old cars in more remote areas, but there are a lot of "small crop" growers around, particularly on crown land that are a little "over protective" of their plants if you get my drift.😉
So I stayed out of those areas.

The coupe doors were the same as the front doors on a sedan, so that increases your chances of finding a replacement if you have a bingle.
In spite of all the flak they copped when new, they sold over 1.1 million Marinas in its 10 year production run.

In 1975, age 20, I worked in a car yard for a few months, and used to get sent off on errands in a demo vehicle, which was a Marina. It used to need to be revved up a bit as it was only 3 speed, but I used to love zooming around. Once revved, it went well.

Previously during the Christmas holidays of 1973/4, I worked at Annand and Thomson in Newstead, Brisbane delivering new Peugeot 504s and Renault 12s, amongst others. I'd pick them up from a warehouse with about 16 miles on the clock, and bring them back to be detailed..

Three speed manual? If it was that would have been the Marina Six?

TEA20 and 65 isn't it? The 65 would be pretty useful, though probably to big for small blocks of land.
