    Default Importing a Clio V6

    Hey all,

In the main forum as I guess it's not really about Clios, more about, any car in the UK really, TVR's, Vauxhaul VX220's, etc etc.

So, my partners sister in law is Welsh. She goes home every other year to see her folks and all that, no worries.

What are the requirements for importation? If I get her to purchase a Clio for me, can she bring it back over here after a year, or does she need to have lived over there for the year?

    Cheers

You can import under the SEV Scheme as well.

However only certain vehicles are eligible and need to be complied by an approved DOTARS compliance company.

I'd suggest you would be pushing manure uphill with a toothpick to get a Clio V6 into Australia under SEVS.

They are pure aural porn, Rob. I've heard one driving in the CBD here, and what a sound. Better than an Alfa 147 GTA.

It's not unreasonable - like the sirens' song - to be lured dangerously, after experiencing this torment.

You may well be right Addo.

But after booking your ticket overseas and arranging the funds to purchase one and after staying with it for 12 months, then paying to ship it back home plus paying for compliance and rego costs may result in a deflation within the midships.

12 months ownership as a minimum an must be regularly driven

Everybody takes their pound of flesh

Some people have dined well off my import attempt!

    It's very costly.

    Luxury car tax?

    Parts?

    Servicing?

    There's more things to consider.
