Icon5 Air Conditioning Gas - what sorts are there?

Summer has reached Melbourne and I need to recharge the Air Conditioning Gas in our 505 and MB - what sort of Air Conditioning gas is there now available?

On the MB, there is a newish sticker in the engine bay which says:
    (A?)SCEON49 & then 'R413A' from Rhone-Poulene.

I can't remember what gas the 505 (1985) last got but there was a bit of a fuss at the time about new & old gas.

What is compatible with what these days?
So many projects - so little time.

i know the R134a is the new gas
i think there is also another one that can mix/or go in the old R12 systems without the need to change anything
i just got the 306 topped up with 134a for $30
the 604 will need doing once she is all finished and i'd say it will probably get changed over to 134a as well if i can't find the other gas that is compatible
