Icon3 Avatar roll back, now rolling forward again...

    Read post #8

We are going to roll them back. Not the GST

100 X 100 will become the maximum allowable physical size for all.

If you have a larger avatar than 100 X 100 pixels (excluding public ones, which I will fix) could you please resize it to the new ceiling as it would take a little while for me to edit them all individually.
Can we comply by December 1st?

On a lighter, more technical note, GD is installed on this server & the added benefit of thumbnail preview clickable images has been activated for all image files uploaded as attachments to your posts.
This is a totally awesome feature dudes.

Not sure whether someone has told me this but I just had a look at a thread with no avatars & I measure 50mm (with a ruler) for the avatar/ info column. With 150 pixel avatar in the thread it measures the same

Can someone with low resolution screen please check to see if there's any difference/ benefit in going back to 100 X 100?

I was comparing this thread & Alan's biodiesel thread.

It makes very little difference .... turn Avatars off and there is a slight difference (then again that's been my "tip" from day 1). Having said all this 100x100 is OK ... it's only a "representation" of who you are .. not a story.

If anyone want's help resizing and/or animating their avatar PM me.

Ok I should have researched this better

I just measured the poster info column of a post with no avatar on 800 X 600 of 67mm. A post with 150 X 150 avatars measured the same

Executive decision re-instating avatar tolerances of 150 X 150 for all as it makes no difference to the left column.
The file size will remain as is.

    Sorry to be confusing people
