    Default Reliability Data

Real life reliability data from Warranty Direct:
    http://www.reliabilityindex.co.uk/
Peugeot makes Top 10 and beats Merc, BMW & Audi!
    Interesting reading.
Two things to look for in any particular model. The reliability index (how reliable they are) but also the average cost of repairs.
Subaru's look like one of the most expensive to repair!
(By the way, how do I create a URL link? I could do it on the previous site but can't find it here)

Just came across this on a European forum:

In this weeks Auto Motor & Sport is a 100.000km test of the Renault Laguna 2.2 cdi.

The title of the article said "Mängelware", wich (freely) translates into something like: "Running Waste Dump" or "Rubbish Car".
Seems Renault isn't doing really well...

    Small notes of the problems:
16289km : chipcard didn't respond to changes. new chipcard installed.
16492km : Fuel loss in enginecompartment
16495km : parts of injectionsystem replaced
17466km : warninglamp for heated seats lights up during acceleration
17539km : chipcard and switch for heated seats replaced

(the problem with the heated seats remains apparently, because they mention it again at 25000km, 26000km, 28000km, 29000km, 31000km, 35000km, 41000km)

    ... and we continue

25670km: With high temperatures outside, the boardcomputer says that the injectionsystem is malfunctioning.
26202km: Fixation for engine replaced + wheels and axes had to be balanced again.
28244km: Strange sounds coming from enginecompartment
29270: Front brakes fully replaced + front axes defective and replaced due to fuel leaking on them (see km16492)
    61000: rear wiperengine replaced
82816km: again front brakes fully replaced + ABS/ESP kabling replaced (known issue fixed in advance)
96125km: Powered steering malfunction at idle. Clutch pedal doesn't come back up as should.
97488km: Powered steering pump replaced + clutch pedal replaced.

These are all problems, without counting defective lamps and other normal things.
