    Default Anyone recognise this car?

Stephen Walker the journalist behind www.nextcar.com.au sent me this pic earlier today. It was taken in Sydney? In 2005-6.

Yes, it is a Porsche and very anti-socially parked.

Geez, I'm a Renault guy and even I know it's a SM Citroen! Maseratti engine I believe.

It looks like one of Dads mates cars.
His is the same colour and has the 4 round headlights if it is left hand drive it would look even more similar, His name is Eric Houghton.

pretty sure i've seen one of these parked on the eastern edge of adelaide CBD, lime green, thougt it might have been an odd Honda but will try for a closer look and a piccy if it's around.

It's one of Peter McLeods imported and rebuilt SMs.

    http://www.citroensmaustralia.com/

That's Peter in the grey shirt with cap.

I think the Cits were parked at the top of College St for the NRMA Motorfest.

The blue DS beside it belongs to Continental Cars. The tip of the white SM in the left of shot is the one with the black roof (IIRC) and was also refurbed by Peter.

I think on the far side of the blue D was Buttercup Bob and his 57 DS19.

    Can I stop now?

Cool site, but my gawd, frightening prices! You can dig them up a lot cheaper than that, but they're not a car to trifle with...I'm sure you'd be better off spending the big bucks up front. Another off my list of cars I can afford...sigh. Better hang onto my Hyundai for all it's worth!!!

Citroen didn't sell them by the bucket-load, desirable as they may have seemed at the time! I think they were sort of a late model Austin Atlantic, built for rich people but with somewhat better motive power......

There was an SM for sale at the Throttle Shop in North Sydney a little while back. I think it was about $50,000. I had never seen one in the flesh before and was surprised at how big it was.
