    Default Mechanic In Sydney

    G'day Sydneysiders,

My daughter is currently living in Sydney and has been using my wife's R19. I've usually looked after most of its servicing needs in the past but it isn't very feasible to bring tools. etc and do it myself.

I'm therefore after recommendations for a female sympathetic workshop that won't turn its nose up at a middle-aged Renault.

It should only need a fairly routine service (plugs, fluids, filters, etc) and the front brake pads will also need changing.

She is living in Blacktown and working at Kellyville so somewhere not too far distant from these locales would be handy.

    Many thanks in advance.

    Philip

I'm willing to bet Jason Hantos will be the most reasonable and competent French car specialist.

    He's at Hornsby Heights. TEL (0407) 281 269.
    Cheers,
    Michael

The nearest ones to Blacktown or Kellyville with older Renault experience that I can think of are Colliers at Granville or European Auto Care in Penrith, that's where my oldman takes his R19.

Yep, Hornsby Heights... just a stones throw (read: cruise missile launch) from Blacktown, and just a hop skip and jump (read: New world voyage) from Kellyville..

If you read my reply just a little bit more carefully you'll realise I didn't say anything about throwing stones, I was responding to the requests for a mechanic who doesn't gouge his customers but still knows what he's doing.
    Cheers,
    Michael

I'll add one in for Jason too....have been very happy with the work he has done for me.

...as for Colliers, they looked after my R21 many years ago with no complaints from me either...

Oh turn it up, I was taking the piss out of the fact he's in Hornsby Heights and no where near Blacktown/ Kellyville. Heck, I could have given a thumbs up for my mechanic Paul V, if all philipjh wanted was good honest mechanics in the greater Sydney area...

Lucky he's a mobile mechanic then.

Don't get out much??? Are you serious??? Funnily enough, I don't spend my days visiting mechanics around Sydney, yeah... I guess that makes me a bit of a loser..

Okay guys, enough of the handbag swinging, it's quite unseemly.

But thanks for all of the suggestions.

I will send my daughter the list with the knowledge that they are all reputable and she can work out which is going to be most convenient for her.

I just didn't want her going to Vulture-tune or something like that, getting ripped off and not getting the work done properly.

    Cheers

    Philip
