    Default Anyone coming Melb-SYD soon?

    Hi,
is anyone coming up from Melbourne to Sydney in between now and end of Jan, who could pick up Five (5) R16 rims (bare, no tyres) from Mitcham VIC and bring to Sydney for me to pick up from somewhere; or take them to Jugiong if you're going on that weekend?

I could donate some $$$ as offset for Fuel costs.

    Thanks

I would have no trouble between Wodonga and Sydney; not sure south of that.

    This sounds promising.
Lyn I'm assuming since you're offering that there would be somewhere in Wodonga you could drop them to that Addo could pick them up from?

If so, I'll contact the guy in Mitcham and ask if I can pass his contact details onto you and get yours in return etc and do the same with Addo.

    Thanks guys. I appreciate it.

Whinge about tenants? Works for me.

KB, the likely drop point would be Ralph's place (with his permission, of course!). I have to take some rims from there in the coming week, and deliver them interstate, so he can't say there isn't room.

Nearly there. I have the Melbourne people able to contact each other and Ralph in Wodonga. Addo I'll need your contact details for the pickup in Sydney and we should be sweet.

    Thanks guys.

    Kevin,

Lyn has already picked up the rims from me on Friday morning, so the relay has begun.

Thanks Sarosa, Ralph in Wodonga is primed to receive them; and I hear Addo is likely to be dropping past soon so it is well and truly underway.

I have to say it truly wonderful that forum members are so generous with their time to do this. Whilst ultimately I could have just booked a courier, that then burdens you to having to bundle them up, be there for the courier during business hours etc whereas this way, with the generosity of about 4 members these rims are going to find their way to Sydney to live again on a frenchie rather than be melted down and return as a tie-rod end on a Hyundai!

    Thanks everyone involved.

Why a Hyundi ? Why not a Toyota, by the sounds of things they'll be the only ones builing cars in oz in a few years.
Was ringing around to get shut down work over x-mas and it looks like Ford aint doing much and could be out in three years, where as Toyota is steaming forward.

That was my point 63-1092, we export Iron ore; Hyundai buy it and re-import it as cars.
Toyota however, could be getting their steel from anywhere despite the fact the cars are Oz assembled.

UPDATE - the Eagle has landed.

I met up with Addo this afternoon for a chat and he offloaded the rims from one fine french estate into another.

    Thank you to all involved:
Sarosa - for the initial donation
Gsmack - for the Melb pick up and drop off at Wodonga
Ralph - for the storage in Wodonga and drop off in Wagga.
Addo - for picking them up from Wagga and dropping them off at work here in SYD

    Champions, all of you.
I have Addo's thank you sorted, I'll contact each of you to see how I can re-pay your kindness.
    Cheers
