    Default The Need For Speed

If you suffer from this syndrome, this is the weekend on TV for you. All of these events are on ONE HD. Times are for Sydney (Eastern Daylight Saving time).
    • Sat Nov 13 8:00pm WRC Wales Rally Day 1
    • Sat Nov 13 10:00pm Isle of Man TT Superbike Race. This is a serious eunuch free event. The rider, the motorbike, the long track using normal roads, high level of concentration, the solo rider against the clock. Average speed around 200kph. No haybales, no stacks of tyres, no smooth special race track, no gravel areas to slow down a bike after leaving the track. No fencing to protect onlookers who are right next to the track. If the rider comes off the bike through the towns, secondary braking may include - stone walls, pubs, other buildings, trees and onlookers.
    • Sun 14 Nov 9:30pm WRC Wales Rally Day 2
    • Sun 14 Nov 11:55pm F1 Abu Dhabi Grand Prix. Will Mark Weber win the World Championship?
From an AF perpective, the WRC Wales Rally is just a fun day out as Loeb and Citroen have already won the Drivers and Manufacturers Championships.

For Victorians in particular, this vicarious form of enjoying speeding is much cheaper (case of VB) and doesn't result in any loss of licence points compared to actually driving on the road yourself. This may change if Brumby wins the election as I think VicRoads have spotted a potential money spinner by booking couch potatoes watching speed (which we all know kills under all circumstances, regardless on how it is consumed).

Don't give them ideas Next thing they will do it so they have more money to waste The extra 100 mobile 'speed' cameras going into operation after the election probably won't pull enough $$$ to cover their wastefulness

Well the rally highlights are not on the advertised time again, do we have to make a wild guess as to when they will be on?

Looks like whoever did the program times for One HD forgot to account for daylight saving, consequently programs were an hour late.

Aussie Cameron Donald managed a 3rd place in the Isle of Man TT.
