    Default magazine article thread ?

    Hi Guys,

I'm slowly emptying boxes (still). Who's interested in reading some old magazine articles ?? I figure if I spend 5minutes each day I could post an old article each day for a months .... if not years.

There's magazines dating back to the 50's and car clubs stuff dating to the 70's. There is probably a 1/100th of the magazines that we had a few years ago..... Nearly all the magazines that didn't contain french cars were chucked, leaving just the good ones

Quite a few of the articles may well already be on the internet somewhere ...... But we'll never know unless we try

    seeya,
    Shane L.

Default The Citroen CX turbo 10years on.

Thanks guys .... order will be .... "as I drag them off the pile". Car club magazines .... I'm not sure if I'll p!$$ the club members off by scanning them. I think I'll only do any article from magazines that are over 10years old... If people want newer ... Join the clubs !!!!!

Todays ... These are photocopies of the Citronian magazine pages from december 1996. I'm not sure how I obtained these (maybe Smiffy ???). Hey smiffy, you should post that article that covers our exact CNAN cars!!!

We'll see I guess... Those "On The Road" magazines are the BEST bloody magazine ever written. I foudn them at a junk store in Queenscliff a few years back. They had dozens of them.... I've been kicking myself ever since for not buying every single one of them (you'll see what I mean when I post the article tomorrow). I just found BW35 rebuild in one of them ........... Part 1 of 3 I don't have parts 2 & 3

Do the GS Birotor owners want me to post a rotary engine rebuild. Also there is "rebuilding a Rochester 4 barrel carby" .... Did any of the PSA V6's have these ? These magazines are so bloody brilliant I wish I could scan the entire things for you ...

DC - For copywrite issues do you want it in a non-google index page(s).

Or should this be built into a Wiki? I have hundreds of brochures and articles to scan, but some structure/std would be good.

Arrrhhhhh..... my ignore lists are gone

I'm not going to worry about copywrites for now. Given anything I post will be at least 10 years old .... Possibly even 50years old, could we even find who to ask for approval .

Once they are uploaded on this thread, we can then link wiki's or whatever we decide over to the relevant files contained in this thread (at least that way, anyone can find the "newest uploads" just by opening this thread).

Facinating stuff there, Maybe I will have to copy and post my CX stuff but of course it's all series 2, and I know there really atren't that many series 2 cars over there.
Great for me, you, and of course Archrival.... Oh, and isn't there a series 2 CX22 estate car in tasmania?

For those froggers who don't know the story behind Shanes car and mine, they were Citroen UK press cars. That is they were loaned to motoring journalists to use for magazines, and tests.

Todays article is: Rebuilding a flat four. They have used a Citroen GS engine.

Source: "On The Road" magazine. Part 77 Article 1 of 2 uploaded. This sucker is huge (12pages in length) so I had linked it to the media section.

PROOF READERS WELCOME TO COMMENT !!!!!

Ok, well I can contribute a little here. I found a stash of old motor mags recently too.

Here is a Citroen advertisement from 1960 that appealed to me.

Nice... I have one of those "road test porfolios" on D's. they even have road tests on the Connaugth (spelling ??) converted cars. They would most certainly be copywrited though ... so I can't scan them

    Shane,
mate you are not alone. I must have thrown out hundreds of car magazines over the years, but I still have shelf after box after shelf of them. On a quiet night you can hear them breeding.
What I do have is a collection of about 50 articles from the Australian motoring press dating from September 1955 to September 2005 on Dees in Australia - road tests, technical notes, history etc. All scanned in high res PDF format. It is fascinating to read what journo's of the day made of the cars. If anyone is interested I can make these available for the cost of a CD plus postage.
I also have a full collection of CCOCA's "Front Drivel" magazine dating back to Vol 1, number 1, October 1977.
    It's a disease.

Now I finally understand the Journo's raving about the old CX turbo diesels.... I guess the did win a stack of performance and economy awards when they were released. Infact in there time they were the quickest/fastest/most economical diesel passenger car in the world.

I give you 2cv type performance with real ordinary fuel economy.... The:

Yeah there is R20 & R30 stuff there.... It'll take time ( a lot of it ) to work through the magazines. I haven't even got through the first 3 magazines yet! The July '82 Wheels magazine has a HEAP of french car stuff in it. Even the editorial is all about citroens, it has a feature on "citroen cars of the future" (that I won't bother with), a 2cv article, a CX article... and a 505 article too.
