    Default Remote Central Locking Kits

    Hey all,

As Binky (1964 404) has just been repainted, and is in the process of being reassembled, I'm thinking about fitting remote central locking. I know some of you have done this to your own cars, so I'm just wondering if anyone has recommendations regarding brands, etc...

If you're looking at fitting an alarm as well, most alarms has a remote central locking output as well. Then you just need the actuators - and it's pretty hard to go past the kit that Autobarn has on sale at the moment, 4 actuators, brackets, wiring, etc for $19.95.

    $19.95?!?

Bugger, just bought a remote central locking kit from Autobarn this morning for $99.00.

    ...Boy, do I feel stoopid

Seeing as it's a 1964 404 with the upside down door lock buttons, and the C3 dog leg gearbox pattern, I figure if the average car thief can break into it, and get it into first gear, he/she probably deserves congratulations! So I'm not planning to fit an alarm...

Realistically, the guitars I put in it are worth more than the car anyway!

I've done a lot of research, and despite the myriad brands available, it seems the actual product is remarkably similar, so I eventually decided to just buy a kit because I couldn't really discern any difference between the kits available.

    Thanks for your response, Demannu!
