    i.c.e. question...

    hello,

some of you audiophiles may be able to answer ma question.

ive got a stacker in the boot.

continually skips when the car is in motion or whenever i blink, pick ma nose, and even when i scratch ma big balls.

it either skips or plays a cd for 2 seconds then a crackle and an error message on the head unit.

obviously the ride in a 205 is harsh. its even harsher when its on 17s.

come to think of it, it began skipping when the 17s were put on.

is there sumtin i can do to make the stacker from skiping continously?

would it make any difference if the stacker is inside the car as opposed to it being in the boot?

i havent yet checked the connections, but say i have and it continues to do this... is there sumtin else i could do?

senk que in advance cheers! ,

i have a 12 year old kenwood stacker (it's huge ) in the boot of the 306 and it only skips if i hit a big bump
it has been in many cars now and it used to be in the boot of a 504 i had that used to love dirt roads and it hardly ever skipped
my only advice would be try and move it close to the centre of the car

You could try mounting the stacker braket to the body of the boot with rubber exhaust mounts (the ones with a stud at each end and a hunk of rubber in the middle)....they cost about 2 bucks a pop and it worked well on my freinds car that skipped with low profile tyres....

Most stackers skip because they aren't tied down tight enough.
When i was installing, we found that if placed in the boot of a hatch it was necasry to drill and bolt it VERY securely.
Also 99% of stackers have position switches for vertical/45'/horizontal mounting, check these on either side of the actual stacker and make sure they are correct.
Perhaps you could also move it and place it were the lower shelf is in the dash?
    good luck - chris

Also, being located in the boot, it's over the rear wheels. If it was placed under the drivers seat, you would get less vertical movement when hitting bumps.
