I would have thought that without a doubt an F1 car would be quicker then the bikes around a circuit.

The f1 car has so much more downforce for cornering and late braking, I would have thought that the laptimes for an F1 car would be noticably quicker then the Bikes, yu only have to look at how much quicker they go around some of the corners....

    but who knows?

    It depends....

On a racetrack with known surfaces and straights - the bike.

On a twisty road with real world bumps and changes, the bike would be holding a fast road car up for *most* of the way.

Mac.. stay off the junk brow... on a hill climb, for example, with sealed road conditions the bike will do the doors on all cars.

That statement comes with a guarantee.

Oh so you mean like a racetrack? Read above.

I'm talking real roads with bumps and wet patches and stuff. Things like the Nasho and the Old Pac.

Just made a phone call to a mate with a modified 200sx that qualifies as a daily driver.

His time at wakefield is 2 seconds quicker than the trailered R1's arriving on the same day. Thats a racetrack too, so the difference on a tight road would be even greater.

I reckon even a well-tyred DC2R would walk away from the meanest of road bikes on a challenging road.

Probably a little tangent, but....we enjoy a bit of O/T wink

If memory serves me correctly and I'm sure I'll be corrected if wrong, but I believe at the first Indy on the Gold Coast Street Circuit the Go-Carts were lapping faster than the bikes. Can anyone confirm?

    Cheers

Sorry to interupt the conversation, but I have video footage of an MV Agusta F4S holding me up in a DC5R on Reefton Spur. Then moments later another holding me up on an M900.

Both of these machines in the right hands should be quicker, but as we've been saying on a public road the bikes aren't as quick unless the rider has a death wish, in which case they won't last long.
