Factory-fitted or aftermarket radio? How old is the car?

I bought a 1990 Pug in 1998, and didn't know the code. I eventually tracked it down on a computer at the place that sold the car new. I was lucky though, on the computer the space that was meant for the radio code had the wrong number, the radio code was entered somewhere else (in the wrong spot). It took me about three phone calls before I had the right number.

So, if it's a newer car, ring the original seller. Otherwise, an auto-electrician should be able to help you out.

Might sound stupid, but check all the booklets you got with the car for a four digit number - like inside the back cover etc. I know someone who found theirs this way.

My Cit has a separate plastic business card with the number on it.

BTW - do you know how hard it is to type in the dark on a laptop during a blackout and not make mistakes??!

Woologong too eh? I heard that Rockdale was blacked out, but that makes it sound fairly extensive.

You should get yourself an Apple Powerbook 17" - backlit keys that adjust to the amount of ambient light - very cool in a blackout I'm told. Me, I make do with either my USB light or the black diamond "head" light.

No black out here tonight though.

    Cheers
