205 - Motorsport pics from WA

We had a really great motorsport event in Perth a couple of Sunday's back at the Speedome which is actually a large, outdoor cycle track - it was a great day with an awesome mix of cars from old classics to new Rexes. I was happy with how I went - 12th out of about 89 cars despite one very dead shocky - see HERE for more about the event.

I had a few pics so thought I'd pop them up to show the Pug 205 in action - wish some of you other french cars were out this way - Hopefully Goat and some others in WA will be on the track soon
Cheers Steve

I knew you were running Steve, but I was Down South that weekend ... was hoping to come and spectate.

Would like to compete in a few things myself - but it's a while before my warranty runs out and I don't have a second car yet.

Well Chris, let's just say that my left shock had pretty much zero valving when I started the event and unfortunately I couldn't get this fixed in time.

I then had a 'moment' as we call it in motorsport (see pic below) during the last long-track race where I did a flick to the right, followed by a flick to the left to get through a tight traffic-circle chicane, only to find that my front wheels were no longer on the ground during the 2nd flick after some contact point with what I like to call the 'apex'... Followed shortly thereafter by some airborne activity and then contact with the kerb on the other side

Anyway, cut a long story short my right-hand shocky (or in fact the strut part of the coil-over) was now in a similar condition to my left hand side and I had instantly injected about 4 degrees of negative camber. I still had 2 events to go and it was interesting driving with my centre-pointer on the momo wheel pointing to two a clock instead of dead ahead

The rim is now in the 'wheel hospital' getting fully repaired, the struts are now in the 'car hospital' getting rebuilt or replaced and my ego is still with me along with only minor dents blush

Cheers
Steve

ooooouh..... mate?.. it might have T16 stickers and a Mi-16, but that seems at speed. and last time i checked you had gti underpinings, not T16's.. nasty hospital bills coming your way. deal

If it means anything to you, the 4th last time i was at Wakefield race track i did the starter motor in. the repair of the Starter motor it self was only $180 bucks, but the whole job cost $700 plus another $400 for a full service and new brake fluid, and a major radiator reco. cry You can barely see the starter in a S16....
Never mind. cheers chris
