Taxi and Taxi 2 are French movies featuring a slightly mad taxi driver in a hotted up 406, Ray. I saw Taxi on World movies a couple of days back , in fact. Mildly funny French spoof. The car is the best thing in the show. (The girl is probably the second best). Somehow they forgot to add a plot, but the driving scenes are quite nice.

Not a patch on the original "Day of the Jackal" if you like older French cars though (more the cars than the driving in this case) . I watched "Day of.." again on my laptop flying down from Queensland a few days ago. (Its just been re-released on DVD) . A few anachronisms in it (later model D's and Pugs than the ostensible time at which the film is set), but lots of 203's, 403's and 404's, and a fine lineup of DS's etc. Even a nice little Alfa sports , from the days when they knew how to make pretty looking cars.

"Zone 2" is the DVD zone - Zone 2: Europe, Japan, South Africa, Israel, Lebanon, Middle-East. Part of the very silly copyright protection scheme for DVD's. In theory you can only play the movies on machines set up for this zone. In practice many people have "multi zone" players.

    Cheers

    Thanks for the explanation, Rod...

And if the girl is only second best, I guess the whole thing's a waste of time?

Brenno and I thought the girl was probably the best bit.

    The car is awesome though.

You're probably right, Deka. I was being a bit too kind to the car for the sake of the local audience I suspect.

(psst Yes, thinking about it, you were right. Don't tell Carmella!)

    Cheers

Come on guys, I think it's a *BIT* much to expect someone to do you a favour AND send COD from London.

Can't you afford AU$15 (or slightly less actually) plus postage?

I bought my copy of each of the DVD's on eBay (from the UK) recently and paid about 3 pounds each plus postage.

    Derek.

I went to Deka's last night and watched Taxi 2. I havnt seen the first, but i thought it was pretty good! I enjoyed it a lot, the car was great, the girls were fantastic, and it was very funny. Well worth the effort of seeing! dance Espetially the first scene! And the final fight scene!!!!!!!! tongue

Derek said the 2nd one is better than the first, but one day i'll go over and watch it!
