Fuego Dominates at Targa NZ.

Only joking. A few froggies doing well though. A Xsara VTS in production class in particular. See results so far here: http://www.targa.co.nz/

    Cheers,

That's nearly as funny as a post I read recently stating that a Fuego would be quicker and handle better than a 205gti over twisties. I nearly wet myself when I read that, I wish I cold remember what post I read it in?

Anyway good to see the NZ boys doing well.

I would never have thought that about a Fuego either. But since I bought one about 10 days ago, as second car, I'm beginning to wonder whether he might be right. I haven't pushed it super hard yet, but initial impressions are that the Fuego is indead a dark horse. I had a bit of a go the other day on a freeway exit loop, homing in on a 505 GTi and a 306, and found that at speeds which would have the tires in my 504 squeeling for their lives, the Feugo just ducked into the bend like it was on rails, with no understeer at all, no tire squeeling or scrubbing. The G forces where such that I was wondering whether it would fall over before loosing traction. By the way, it's not on the much derided TRX's, it's got Bridgestone 185/60R14's on what appear to be Lancia alloys.
